چکیده
Abstract Cladocerans are a diverse group of species that show rapid responses to changes in environmental conditions. This adaptive capacity has important implications for egg production and life cycle, especially transitory environments such as temporary waterbodies. The present study investigated the history Alona gutatta Sars, 1862 (Crustacea, Cladocera), an abundant frequent from high-altitude pond (Lagoa Seca, Minas Gerais, Brazil). Newly hatched neonates were monitored relation time maturation, number eggs produced per female survival. Neonates required mean 8 days mature. A. guttata survived 30.9 ± 8.1 2 brood, generating 10.95 6.41 during entire cycle. development, short produce long cycle adaptations adverse conditions aquatic environments, which can contribute colonization ecosystems.

A new species of anomopod related to Alona quadrangularis (Cladocera: Anomopoda: Chydoridae) is described from streams in South Vietnam. Alona kotovi sp. nov. differs from the other species of Alona s. str. (the quadrangularis-group) by the morphology of its postabdomen, labrum and thoracic limbs. The presence of a short spine at the end of the male postabdominal claw is unique to the new speci...

Cladocera of Alona affinis group from North America preserved in the collection of Professor D. G. Frey were investigated. A new subspecies of Alona ossiani Sinev, 1998 is described. Alona ossiani herricki ssp. nov. differs from the nominative subspecies in presence of 2-3 marginal denticles on postanal angle of male postabdomen, no differences between subspecies were revealed in the female mor...
متن کاملThe evolutionary history of the Chydoridae (Crustacea: Cladocera)
Although much is known about the evolutionary history of the pelagic ‘cladocerans’, there is little information on benthic families such as the Chydoridae. In this study, we examine the phylogenetic history of 37 chydorid species using sequence variation in two mitochondrial genes, COI and 16S rDNA, and one nuclear gene, 18S rDNA. The four recognized subfamilies of chydorids (Eurycercinae, Sayc...

Limnosida frontosa Sars, 1862 is redescribed based on the material from over its entire range, from Norway and Finland in the west to Yakutia in eastern Siberia and the Lower Amur River basin (Far East of Russia) in the east. Morphological analysis of the species has revealed a combination of advanced and evolutionary primitive features, latter characterizing Limnosida as the most primitive mem...
